–?? ?Woman decides not to testifyA 25-year-old woman decided not to testify against her 24-year-old reputed husband who was accused of assaulting her and causing bodily harm.Presiding over the case yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court was Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan.The charge stated that on August 7 at Lombard Street, Georgetown, Gary Beckles assaulted Sherona Noble. It was further alleged that Leroy Malcolm of Sussex Street, Georgetown, assaulted Beckles, causing him actual bodily harm.Both defendants pleaded not guilty.Court documents revealed that Noble is the reputed wife of Beckles. On the day in question, the defendant had allegedly returned to Guyana after a vacation in Jamaica and as he was about to enter his home, he “heard a lot of moaning and became suspicious”. The man then entered the house quietly and slowly approached the room from which he heard the sounds. When he opened his bedroom door, he allegedly saw his wife naked and in a compromising position with Malcolm, who was also naked.It was alleged that after seeing this, Beckles became annoyed and grabbed his wife by her hair and dragged her away from the other man. Beckles then dealt his wife several slaps to the face and punches to the lower abdomen.
