The Childcare & Protection Agency, (CPA) has launched investigations into cases whereby two pregnant girls (11 and 12 years old) were rescued by the Guyana Women Miner’s Association, (GWMA).The girls who are said to be from Region 1 were rescued by members of the GWMA some two weeks ago.According to information reaching this newspaper, the teens were taken to the Port Kaituma Hospital following their removal from communities in the Region.?? The girls were said to be anemic when they were brought to the hospital for medical care and examination.? A source confirmed the teens (cousins) have since met with social workers in the region.Kaieteur News understands that the two girls were both impregnated by adults from their villages.?? According to the information, one of the men is related to both victims.? The source said that since the cases are being treated as rape, the police are also playing a part in the investigation.In the case of the 12 year old, Kaieteur News understands that her father is responsible for her pregnancy.?
